cadooz helps lay the cornerstone of the SOS Children’s Village in Dulsberg

17.10.2019

This year, the cadooz team once again rolled up its sleeves, pitched in, and provided support wherever it was needed. As a Hamburg-based company, we have a special connection with the Hanseatic city and were therefore delighted to have the opportunity to help out at the ceremony of laying the cornerstone for the first SOS Children’s Village in Hamburg.

A new home for children in need

The beginning of September was marked by the laying of the cornerstone for the first SOS Children’s Village in the Dulsberg region of Hamburg. Forming part of the Hafen für Familien (Haven for Families) project, it is scheduled to open in 2021 and will serve as a shelter for children whose biological parents are unable to give them sufficient care at home. The new family center will also be another meeting place of education and support for all citizens of Hamburg.

Laying the cornerstone

On September 4, 2019, we were on location with eight cadoozies to help prepare for the festivities. There was plenty for us to do at the ceremony, which was attended by around 150 guests as well as the press.

The cadoozies set up numerous benches and tables, decorated the entire area around the building shell with balloons, and authorized and welcomed the guests. The highlight of the festival, especially for the younger guests, was probably the appearance of children's song performer Rolf Zuckowski, who was accompanied by a few children from the SOS Children’s Village.

It was an exciting day, and all the cadoozies who helped out on location went home with the feeling of having done valuable work, as well as being proud and grateful to have been able to give their support.

Social involvement at cadooz

We at cadooz frequently provide support for various projects and facilities in and around Hamburg. As a Hamburg-based company, we are aware of our responsibility for the region and therefore regularly swap our everyday office routine for work gloves, boots, and anything else needed for a successful assignment.
